Formerly the 501 Club, Tip’s was founded as a clubhouse for Professor Longhair in his declining years and is a known musical historic spot. Tipitina’s is the city’s funkiest joint with music most nights and a famous Fais Do Do (usually with Bruce Daigrepont and his band) every Sunday between 5 and 9 p.m.
Tipitina’s French Quarter
The newer Tip’s is a beautiful offspring of the original legendary club, located at 233 N. Peters in the historic French Quarter with a 500 Reception Style capacity first floor (equipped with a large stage state of the art sound and light system) and a beautiful 500 Reception Style capacity private party room upstairs with hardwood floors and a view of the Mississippi River. In addition, Tips’ French Quarter can do an elegant-to-casual 250-person sitdown dinner in its upstairs room and a 200-person dinner of the same ilk in its downstairs room.
